City of Melbourne Providing Dumpsters at Eddie Lee Taylor Community Center to Assist Neighborhood Cleanup
By Space Coast Daily // September 16, 2023
Dumpsters will be on location from Sept. 19-28
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The City of Melbourne will be temporarily placing three dumpsters at the Eddie Lee Taylor, Sr. Community Center parking lot that the City of Melbourne residents may use to dispose of large items that are not picked up as part of their regular waste collection service.
Dumpsters will be on location from September 19 through September 28.
There will be three dumpsters:
■ one for old used tires only
■ one for pressure-treated wood only
■ one for miscellaneous household items only
Please be advised that no chemicals, no electronics, no appliances, no hazardous waste, no vegetative debris, no biomedical waste, and no prohibited materials may be placed in the dumpsters.
The dumpsters will be located at the south end of the parking lot, where we ask the public to leave plenty of room for the dumpsters to be stored and the contractor’s trucks to maneuver.
Please take care to put items in the correct dumpsters. Do not leave anything outside a dumpster and do not overfill a dumpster above the side walls. If the type of dumpster you need is already full, we ask you to wait until that dumpster is swapped out with a different one that does have the room. The dumpsters will be emptied and replaced regularly between September 19 and September 28.
These dumpsters are for the exclusive use of City of Melbourne residential properties and residents only. Businesses and/or contractors may not use these dumpsters.
Many thanks to Waste Management for providing the dumpsters free of charge and to Brevard County for waiving fees at the landfill. Because of their sponsorship of this program, the City of Melbourne is able to offer this service free of charge.
