City of Melbourne Awarded Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

City of Melbourne has received this award for the past 36 years
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Melbourne for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2022.
An impartial panel has judged the report to meet the program’s high standards, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The City of Melbourne has received this award each time it has applied for it in the past 36 years.
The Government Finance Officers Association represents public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada.
It advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve.
