Palm Bay based exhibition jet racing organization Makes Announcement
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida-based exhibition jet racing organization Larsen Motorsports (LMS) announced today leadership expansion driving the growth of the Company.
Development Officer Josette Roach has accepted a position as Vice President of Race Operations. Co-Founder Elaine Larsen will remain President of LMS. Co-Founder Chris Larsen will step back from LMS allowing him the opportunity to focus on expanding business efforts at Aerospace Technology Group, a company specializing in gas turbine-powered support and research.
“I am proud of the unwavering focus these two ladies have for LMS and even more importantly the advancement of the exhibition jet racing category as a whole. Through their hard work and determination, combined with a solid business acumen, they have earned the opportunity to steer the company’s future”, said Chris Larsen.
One product of the adjustments is that they make the company unique as a fully female-operated professional racing organization. From its conception, the LMS brand has included a focus on supporting the empowerment and development of women in the high performance vehicles industry.
Following the 2022 announcement that Elaine would begin stepping back from a primary driving position, she began enhancing an extensive campaign to focus on the growth of three pillars: 1) Bringing attention to jet racing through mainstream media, 2) Dedication to highlighting the overall race fan experience, 3) Cultivating new talent in all areas of drag racing, particularly jet racing.
“Exhibition jet racing is worthy of being more than it is today”, said Elaine Larsen. “It’s no secret that jet cars are among the best values in motorsports entertainment for fans and promoters alike. You can see it, smell it, feel the heat, and the sound just goes right through you, to say we touch the human senses is an understatement!”
Josette Roach joined the company in 2019 as an administrative assistant where she quickly expressed an interest in a position that would align her with the long-term growth of the Larsen Motorsports brand. In 2021 her position evolved to include a co-driver position representing Sherwin Williams and their associated product lines. Today, she is the primary driver for the Sherwin Williams-backed House of Kolor jet racing team.
“I am excited for this opportunity. I have drag raced for over a decade, this new role will enable me to get deeper into the day-to-day operations and the business side of the motorsports industry,” said Josette Roach.
