BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools presented its annual Elementary Music Festival at The Maxwell King Center of the Performing Arts this February.

The festival culminated with two concerts featuring the South and Central Area Elementary students, followed by the North and Central Area Elementary students.

The concerts highlighted students performing in a mass choir of over 150 chorus students and featured 50 students in Beginning Strings and 50 in Intermediate Strings, respectively.

On festival day, students and teachers worked with guest conductor Beth Green, Artistic Director for Indialantic Chamber Singers.

The orchestras, conducted by Brevard Music Teachers Samantha Felber of Heritage High, Laura Garcia of Madison Middle, and Paul Jackson of Hoover Middle, featured beginning and second-year string students. Some of the featured musical selections were “Be Who You Are”, “The Spanish Dancer”, and “Happy Blues“.

The final piece “Tuimbe” encompassed all student musicians and teachers with an inspiring message about the music that lives inside all of us.

“We are incredibly proud of the 55 Brevard Elementary schools who participated in this event,” said Brevard Public Schools spokesperson.
