BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Earlier today, I was honored to speak to over 1,000 law enforcement officers from around the country during the annual “Street Cop Training Conference” that was held this year in Orlando, Florida.

The week long conference is attended by street cops from agencies across the country including members of our agency who are eager to learn about the latest crime trends, investigative methods, leadership techniques, and resources in today’s fast paced profession of law enforcement!!

During my portion of the training I had the opportunity to not only talk about what we need from today’s law enforcement leaders, but also about the “so-called” leaders in law enforcement who have caved to the insanity of going soft on crime!!

“So-called” law enforcement leaders who fail to understand that crime will rise to the level a community will tolerate, and “so-called” law enforcement leaders who care more about protecting their own jobs, then they do their citizens, their cops, and our Constitution.

What we need in today’s profession of law enforcement are leaders who stand strong for law and order, leaders who don’t apologize for targeting criminals before they can target our citizens, leaders who aren’t afraid to say and do what needs to be said and done to protect their communities, leaders that are not afraid to stand up for what’s right, leaders who demand professionalism in their agencies, and leaders, who clearly couldn’t care less about what the media has to say.

The conference was a great event hosted by Dennis Benigno and the entire Street Cop Training team and while I was suppose to be there to motivate those in attendance, I left the event inspired by the over one thousand amazing law enforcement warriors who put their lives on the line each and every day to protect their respective communities!!
