BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech has unveiled a new brand identity for its athletics program. The new logos and wordmarks were developed through a coordinated effort between the university’s marketing and creative services teams, the Department of Athletics, and Mongoose Sports.
“Our new Florida Tech Panther logo is a symbol of modernization, strength, and the tech innovation of our athletic program and reflects our university’s STEM-focused education,” said Director of Athletics Jamie Joss.
“With its fierce design and #TechBuilt essence, it embodies our commitment to our core values: Sweat Equity – Outwork, Outlearn, Outperform; Grit & Growth – We can, We will, We find a way; and Build Your Legacy – Ask, Absorb, Adapt, Achieve.
“Join us,” Joss continued, “as we embrace the future with the spirit of the Panther, bold and unyielding, and develop diverse athletes into scholars, champions, and leaders prepared to become global influencers in their relentless pursuit of greatness.”
The updated brand identity includes the fierce and strong Panther logo and several options for wordmarks.
In addition, Florida Tech’s mascot, Pete the Panther, will sport a new fiercer, and more determined look.
As part of the redesign, Florida Tech has retired the usage of “FT” and will now be identified as “Florida Tech” or “Tech.” Additionally, Athletics has made updates to the primary athletics’ social media accounts and the social media accounts for all 15 varsity sports programs. The new handle of the official X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram pages for Florida Tech Athletics will now be @FloridaTech_Athletics.
The new visual identity replaces athletic logos created in 2019. Florida Tech will begin implementing the new designs immediately.
“Florida Tech students are forged in the classroom and on the field, and I am pleased our new graphic identity expresses the hard work, dedication and resilience needed to excel in both places,” said Florida Tech President John Nicklow. “Whether they are racing down court or stepping up to a microscope, it is always my pleasure and honor to say, ‘Go Panthers!'”
