U.S. House Republican Leadership Team Endorses Brevard’s Mike Haridopolos for U.S. Congress District 8 House Seat

Endorsements come days after receiving endorsement of House Speaker Mike Johnson.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The U.S. House of Representatives Republican leadership team, including Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Majority Whip Tom Emmer and Republican Conference Chairman Elise Stefanik, have endorsed Brevard County’s Mike Haridopolos for the District 8 House seat, according to the Haridopolos campaign.

Last month, eight-time U.S. Congressman Bill Posey made the decision to suspend his re-election campaign and endorse Haridopolos.

The U.S. House leader’s endorsements came just days after Haridopolos received the endorsement of U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson.

“Families can’t afford more of Joe Biden and the Democrats failed leadership,” said Scalise.

“That’s why I’m proud to support Mike Haridopolos for Congress. Mike will help us roll back the damage done to our country by Biden’s radical policies and secure our border once again. Mike’s a proven conservative and he’ll fight for our America First agenda.”

“Mike Haridopolos is a rock-solid conservative who knows how to get results.” said Emmer.

“He will stand with House Republicans to undo Joe Biden’s damage to our country,” said Stefanik.

“Mike understands the importance of securing the border, making America energy independent, restoring our economy, and restoring our fiscal house. Mike Haridopolos has my full support,” said Emmer.

“Mike Haridopolos is a proven America First conservative. Mike will stand up to the Radical Democrats’ agenda in Washington and fight for common-sense solutions to border security, restoring our economy, and protecting the American people. I proudly endorse Mike Haridopolos and look forward to serving with him in Congress.”

“I am deeply honored to have the support of House Republican leadership,” said Haridopolos.

“I am committed to working with House Republicans to secure the border, stop inflation, and undo the damage caused by four years of Joe Biden’s failed leadership,” Haridopolos said.

Haridopolos lives in Indian Harbour Beach Florida with his wife, Dr.  Stephanie Haridopolos and their three children.

He is a former member of the Florida House  of Representatives (2000-2003) and State Senate (2003-2012). He was elected President of the  Senate by his colleagues from 2010-2012.

He also co-authored the book, The Modern Republican Party of Florida, published in 2019. He  continues to appear regularly on Fox 35 Orlando and is active in national, Florida and local politics, helping Republicans win elections.

Three other candidates are on the Republican ballot, including John Hearton of Satellite Beach and Joe Babits of Vero Beach. Democratic candidates on the ballot are Sandy Kennedy of Cocoa and Daniel McDow of West Melbourne.

Florida Congressional District 8 includes Brevard, Indian River, and portions of Orange  Counties. The district has a voter registration makeup of 46% Republican, 26% Democrat, and  28% Other.
