BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech men’s rowing Arnedas Kelmelis earned a 2024 Empacher-IRCA All-American selection, the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association.

Kelmelis becomes the first IRCA All-American in program history.

It is the fourth year the IRCA has acknowledged its athletes with All-American honors. The IRCA All-American award, presented by Empacher Bootswerft, requires that scholar-athletes must have raced in their team’s varsity boat for the current spring season.

The criteria for selection were based on the strength of the finish of the institution’s varsity boat, individual achievements, erg score, etc.

Kelmelis held the seven seat in the Panthers’ Varsity 8+ and Bow seat in the Varsity 4+. The Kaunas, Lithuania native helped Florida Tech to a program-best finish of third in the Varsity 4+ at the IRA National Championship.

The junior also guided the Panthers’ Varsity 8+ to a third-place finish in the petite final at Dad Vails.
