BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – At the ICAST Convention in Orlando, Reel Defender, a company headquartered out of Melbourne, unveiled an innovative new rod holder, The Reel Defender, to thousands of attendees.

Reel Defender was designed to protect high-end fishing gear in all boating conditions through patented technology and is the only rod holder of its kind with a retractable, retaining tether.

Designed and developed on the Space Coast using state-of-the-art technology, Reel Defender was invented by company owner Randy Truitt, an avid fisherman who discovered the need for an innovative and safer way to tether costly fishing rods to vessels, by eliminating the need for wires and leashes.

Made from corrosion-resistant 316L SS materials, and state-of-the-art composite components, these rod holders will offer various mounting options for boats, docks, and kayaks. Their patented, secure locking, retaining mechanism and ergonomic design ensure stability and ease of use.
