BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I recently had the honor of attending the City of Cape Canaveral’s Veterans Memorial Park rededication and ribbon cutting, which took place on Thursday, July 18, under perfect weather conditions.
This ceremony, which celebrated the completion of the Veterans Memorial Park Redevelopment Project, was postponed a few weeks due to weather concerns.
Mayor Pro Tem Mickie Kellum was the master of ceremonies and did an excellent job keeping the event moving. Multiple speakers talked about the project and its importance to not only Veterans, but the entire community.
After the ceremony, Kellum told me, “This was a much-needed project.” She went on to say, “I think it’s important to the people in our city. We have over 1,200 Veterans that live here.”
Veterans Memorial Park is located at 265 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida, and is open to the public, seven days a week.
