BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s cross country team will run at the UNF 5K Cross Country Challenge on Friday at the UNF Hayt Golf Complex.

The men’s team will run a 5K race beginning at 6 p.m. in Jacksonville.

“It is different. You have to know when to eat and what to eat, you have been up all day so you won’t probably run your best race at night,” Eastern Florida State College men’s cross country coach Doug Butler said.

Sophomore Adem Bouldjadj won the Holloway Collegiate XC Opener last Friday, running the 8K race in 18 minutes, 18 seconds. He helped the team to a fifth-place finish overall.

Teammate Nick Hernandez finished in 20:34 while Omar Bartolon ran the first event in 20:51.

“I am anxious to see how we do, some of them did not race well last week and they are motivated to prove themselves at UNF,” Butler said.

“We are much stronger than we were last season, it is a great group, and anxious to see how this team can stack up.”
