BREVARD COUNTY • INDIALANTIC, FLORIDA – Indialantic native Caleb “Cal” Kinnear has secured a fourth invitation to the ISSA Singlehanded National High School Championship in St Petersburg on October 26-27.

Kinnear attends the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut, and sails the singlehanded ILCA 7, men’s Olympic Laser class dinghy.

For the third year in a row, he won the New England district championship, Healy Trophy National Qualifier on September 21-22, at the American Yacht Club in Rye, New York.

He had first-place finishes in all nine races.

He will compete in the ISSA Cressy Singlehanded National Championship at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club in St Petersburg, Florida, October 26-27.

This is Kinnear’s fourth invitation to the High School National Championship regatta.

“I compete in the ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 for Lauderdale Yacht Club in addition to being a varsity athlete for the Hotchkiss Sailing Team which trains and races in the FJ and 420,” said Kinnear.

“I have spent the past 4-plus years sailing the ILCA on the World level. Prior to that, I sailed the Optimist internationally for six years. My sailing career has been driven by an intense focus on diet, exercise, and on water training to become a top US sailor.”
