Melbourne Woman Dies After Pedestrian vs Vehicle Crash on A1A Near Patrick Space Force Base

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 50-year-old Melbourne woman has died after a pedestrian vs vehicle crash happened Thursday night on A1A near Matador Street across from Patrick Space Force Base, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Authorities say the investigation has revealed that a 2024 Ford Escape was traveling southbound A1A when a pedestrian tried to cross A1A in a unmarked crosswalk area and walked into the direct path of the vehicle.
The pedestrian was taken to Viera Hospital where she was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, and two passengers inside the vehicle, were not injured in the crash.
