A Mims man has died after he was struck by a vehicle Sunday night while riding a bicycle on Foley Road located between Cheney Highway and SR-405 in Titusville.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A Mims man has died after he was struck by a vehicle Sunday night while riding a bicycle on Foley Road located between Cheney Highway and SR-405 in Titusville.

Titusville Police officers responded to a traffic crash involving a bicyclist and vehicle at approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday.

According to Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department, the preliminary investigation revealed Michael Wayne Gragg, 41, of Titusville, driving a tan 2017 Chevy Silverado truck, traveling westbound on Foley Road, veered from the roadway and struck bicyclist, Gene Ryan Collins, 66, of Mims, who was also traveling westbound just north of the rear entrance lane of a local business.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and died from his injuries at approximately 10 p.m.

Gragg initially left the crash scene, but returned a few minutes later, where police conducted impairment field sobriety exercises, which subsequently provided probable cause for arrest resulting in a felony charge of DUI Manslaughter.

There were no other injuries.

Michael Wayne Gragg is being held in the Brevard County Jail without bond.

The crash remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department.
