Reflecting on Jewelry Television and its Legacy and Vision
By Space Coast Daily // October 12, 2024
Jewelry Television (JTV) shares thoughts on the company’s journey, values, and the vision that drives its success. With over 30 years in the jewelry and gemstone retail industry, JTV continues to be a trusted name, known for its unique shopping experience through live TV and a dynamic online platform.
What inspired the founding of JTV?
JTV was really born out of a simple idea: making beautiful jewelry and gemstones accessible to everyone. The founders saw that these stunning pieces were often viewed as exclusive or out of reach, and they wanted to change that. They aimed to create a platform where anyone could find and afford fine jewelry while also learning about the craftsmanship and stories behind each piece. It’s about making the beauty of jewelry something everyone can enjoy, not just a select few.
Can you share a defining moment in the history of JTV?
A big moment for us was definitely when we decided to take JTV global. Expanding internationally was a bold step, but it was necessary for us to grow and offer even more to our customers. By establishing offices in key locations around the world, we were able to source better materials and broaden our product range. That move really helped us solidify our place as a leader in the jewelry industry and allowed us to provide even greater value to our customers.
How would you describe the core values that guide JTV?
At JTV, we’re all about accessibility, education, and quality. We believe that everyone should have the chance to own beautiful jewelry, regardless of their budget or background. Education is huge for us too—we want our customers to understand what they’re buying so they can truly appreciate it. And quality? That’s non-negotiable. We’re committed to offering the best products at prices that are hard to beat.
What is the Mission of JTV?
Our mission is pretty straightforward: we want to make the world of jewelry and gemstones open to everyone. Everything we do, from how we source our products to how we interact with customers, is driven by this goal. It’s what keeps us moving forward and constantly looking for ways to improve.
Can you recall a significant challenge JTV faced and how it was overcome?
One of the biggest challenges we’ve faced was during our global expansion. Navigating different markets, cultures, and regulations wasn’t easy—it took a lot of strategic thinking and adaptability. We overcame these hurdles by building strong partnerships and setting up local offices in key regions. These efforts not only helped us get through the tough times but also laid the foundation for continued growth and success internationally.
What are some of the most notable achievements of JTV?
We’ve had some pretty exciting milestones over the years. Reaching over 80 million households is something we’re really proud of, and launching 30 exclusive jewelry brands has been a game-changer. The introduction of our Jedora brand, which brings together a wide range of brands, designers, and products on one online platform, is another highlight. These achievements reflect our commitment to innovation and constantly enhancing the customer experience.
How does JTV prioritize employee well-being and professional growth?
At JTV, we’re all about supporting our team. We place a strong emphasis on creating a work environment where people can grow and develop their careers. We’re committed to hiring and supporting professionals like Graduate Gemologists and Accredited Jewelry Professionals, providing them with ongoing learning opportunities. It’s not just about enhancing our expertise as a company; it’s about investing in our employees’ futures.
In what ways does JTV prioritize diversity, inclusion, and social responsibility?
Diversity, inclusion, and social responsibility are really important to us. We actively support various charitable causes, like the American Heart Association and Make-A-Wish Foundation, to name a couple. These initiatives are part of our broader commitment to making a positive impact on society. It’s not just about doing business; it’s about doing good.
Are there any charitable causes or community initiatives that JTV supports?
Yes, over the years, we’ve been involved in a number of charitable efforts. Supporting organizations like the American Heart Association, Respiratory Health Association, and Make-A-Wish Foundation is something we’re passionate about. It’s our way of giving back to the community and making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
How do you measure success at JTV? Is it purely financial, or are there other indicators you consider?
While financial success is important, we look at success in a broader sense. Customer satisfaction is a big indicator for us—we want to make sure that people have a great experience shopping with us, whether online or on air. We also measure success by how well we’re educating our customers. If they leave with a better understanding and appreciation of their jewelry, then we know we’re doing something right.
Our thanks to the JTV team for the opportunity to share a bit about the journey and values of Jewelry Television. The dedication to their mission and customers is what keeps them going, and they are excited to continue innovating and delivering excellence in the years to come.
