BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s popular community Halloween event will bring creative haunted houses, costume contests, trick or treating, and more to campus from 2-5 p.m. on October. 26.

Treat or Treat, a free public event, takes place on the Residence Hall Quad along Country Club Road (just south of the tennis courts) and at the nearby Panther Plaza, in front of the Denius Student Center. Here’s a campus map of the key areas.

Last year’s Treat or Treat drew nearly 2,500 attendees.

Starting at 2 p.m. on the Quad, five residence halls that have been converted into themed haunted houses will open to guests.

Each offers a different degree of fright:

■ Shaw Hall: The Elements, scare level 0

■ Wood Hall: Mystery Inc: Where is Pete? scare level 1

■ Grissom Hall: Tim’s Twisted Manor, scare level 2

■ Campbell Hall: Nightmare on Country Club, scare level 3

■ Evans Hall: House of Horrors, scare level 4

Other activities include a trick-or-treating area, costume contests, inflatables, games, and a crafting center.

Treat or Treat is hosted by Florida Tech Student Life and Residence Life. Nearly 60 student resident assistants are involved.

They are joined by over 100 student volunteers from Florida Tech Greek life, Student Government, athletics, ROTC and various on-campus clubs and organizations.

Before arriving, adult guests are asked to fill out a brief electronic community member waiver for any minors in their party.

Additionally, Treat or Treat requires a simple-to-use haunted house pass system that will keep wait times to no more than 20 minutes while allowing guests to pick times for their visits to each house.

Passes can also be acquired at Treat or Treat, but attendees are encouraged to utilize the electronic system ahead of their visit. In case of inclement weather, Treat or Treat will be canceled and will not be rescheduled.

Please visit the Treat or Treat website or Facebook page for additional information.
