BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Hurricane Helene has devastated a large swatch of the nation, from Florida’s Big Bend up through Appalachia and into the American heartland. No one is more keenly aware than the musicians of the Tennessee Bluegrass Band, Brevard-bound for their scheduled Friday, October 25 concert for JT’s Bluegrass.

The five-member group led by banjo player Lincoln Hensley will perform a single show of traditional bluegrass music during the 7 p.m. concert at Shepherd’s Hall, 2063 Garden Street in Titusville.

Twenty-something Hensley hails from Erwin, Tennessee, one of the towns hardest hit by flooding after Hurricane Helene.

Other band members include Tim Laughlin on mandolin, Jacob Sheffield on guitar, brother Josiah Sheffield on bass, and bluegrass veteran Michael Feagan on fiddle.

The music of the Tennessee Bluegrass Band features traditional harmonies and time-tested songs. J.T’s Bluegrass has six remaining bands lined up for the 2024-25 season.

J.T. Shealy has been bringing family-friendly top acts from the bluegrass world to Brevard County since 2007. Seats for the Tennessee Bluegrass Band concert are $28 and can be reserved instantly online at JTsBluegrass.com or by calling (321) 693-5508.

Titusville bluegrass promoter, J.T. Shealy knows his Titusville audience will embrace the music of the Tennessee Bluegrass Band –and acknowledge the pain of their friends and families.

11 workers from an Erwin plastics factory in Unicoi County, Tennessee were swept away by floodwaters from the nearby Nolichucky River. Only five were rescued.
