Veteran Police Officer Steve Carroll Sworn in as Newest Member of Satellite Beach Police Department

Officer Carroll brings over 30 years of experience, retired from the Philadelphia Police Department
BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – The Satellite Police Department announced Officer Steve Carroll was officially sworn in during the November 6 City Council meeting.
“Officer Carroll brings over 30 years of law enforcement experience, having retired from the Philadelphia Police Department, where he served in numerous specialty units, including Patrol, Emergency Management, Counterterrorism Operations, Mounted Patrol, Hostage Negotiator, and as the Bomb Disposal Unit Airport Detail Supervisor at Philadelphia International Airport,” said a Satellite Police Department spokesperson.
A special moment during his swearing-in ceremony was when Officer Carroll was pinned by his son, who is currently attending the Brevard Police Academy and following in his father’s footsteps to become a police officer himself.
“It’s truly a family legacy of service to the community,” said a Satellite Police Department spokesperson.
“We are incredibly proud that Officer Carroll is now bringing his vast experience, passion for law enforcement, and commitment to service to our Satellite Beach community. Please welcome Officer Carroll and his family to Satellite Beach!”
The Satellite Beach Police Department comprises 21 sworn law enforcement officers, 14 full or permanent part-time civilian support personnel, including dispatchers, and six school crossing guards.
“Our agency is committed to providing professional services to those who live in and visit Satellite Beach,” said Police Chief Jeff M. Pearson.
“Through careful employee selection, constant training and progressive community programs, our department offers the citizens of Satellite Beach the highest level of community policing and customer service available.”
Over 10,000 residents benefit from law enforcement services provided through the following divisions: Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Professional Standards, Communications, Records, Property & Evidence, the only all-volunteer Marine Enforcement Program in the State, Emergency Response Team (ERT), School Resource Officers, K-9, School Crossing Guards, and more.
