The Cocoa Police Department issued a public advisory regarding a police training activity in Merritt Island. CPD Officers are conducting training exercises in Merritt Island at the old Island Lincoln Mercury Automotive Dealership. This training involves an active assailant scenario. CPD Insists that this is only a training exercise. This exercise is scheduled for today and Friday.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Police Department issued a public advisory regarding a police training activity in Merritt Island, which will continue on Friday.

A Cocoa police spokesperson said CPD officers are conducting training exercises in Merritt Island at the old Island Lincoln Mercury automotive dealership on State Road 520.

This training involves an active assailant scenario. CPD Insists that this is only a training exercise.

This exercise will conclude on Friday.
