Flags to be Flown at Half-Staff in Florida to Honor Former President Jimmy Carter

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – On Sunday, December 29, 2024, the nation mourned the passing of former President Jimmy Carter.
As the 39th President of the United States, President Carter dedicated his life to public service, championing peace, human rights, and humanitarian causes that left a lasting impact both at home and abroad.
In accordance with a directive from the President of the United States and as a mark of respect, Governor Ron DeSantis has ordered the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff.
This order applies to all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout Florida.
Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
Governor DeSantis encourages Floridians to reflect on President Carter’s enduring legacy of service and compassion during this time of national mourning.
