Four Florida Tech Panthers Earn CSC Academic All-District in Volleyball

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Four Florida Tech women’s volleyball team members earned a spot on the College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District team when the organization announced its selections on Tuesday.

Chiara Patelli, Kari Voelstad Bogen, Jeanne Hassoun, and Antia Vallecas Rodriguez represent the Panthers on the CSC Academic All-District team.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Women’s Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top scholar-athletes for their combined performances on and in the classroom.

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early January.

Patelli, a graduate student, is earning her master’s degree in Chemistry and is holding a perfect 4.00 grade point average. This is the second time Patelli has earned Academic All-District status. This season, she has also earned an honorable mention in all-American honors along with First Team All-Region in the AVCA and All-SSC after a record-breaking year individually and with the team.

Voelstad Bogen, a junior, is earning her bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and holds a 3.93 grade point average. This is the first time Voelstad Bogen has earned Academic All-District status for the first time in her career.

This season, she earned third-team All-SSC honors, also a first in her career.

Hassoun, a senior, is earning her bachelor’s degree in Marketing and is holding a 3.76 grade point average.

This is the first time Hassoun has earned Academic All-District status for the first time in her career.

Vallecas Rodriguez, a graduate student, is earning her master’s degree in Business Administration and holds a 3.75 grade point average.

This is the first time Vallecas Rodriguez has earned Academic All-District status for the first time in her career.

Florida Tech made its first appearance in program history in the NCAA Tournament this year after a record-setting season, but it suffered a loss in the first round, bringing its season to an end.
