BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA—Parrish Medical Center’s annual Gift of Light event has become an enduring presence in the city of Titusville, captivating communities with its distinctively refreshing holiday entertainment, spectacular tree lighting, and marvelous fireworks.

Ms. Jennifer Zahn and the Titusville High School Chamber Orchestra opened the show with a lively rendition of “Christmas songs” before the “Parrish Medical Center” board of directors and city officials kicked off the tree lighting and firework festivities.

The start of the Gift of Light event teased performances and appearances from the Titusville High School Chamber Orchestra, Titusville Playhouse, Keegan Performance Company, and Courageous Kicks Taekwondo.

Everybody channeled their holiday spirit for their performance, closing out the tree lighting and fireworks. The Temptations brought happiness to a wondrous event. Steven J. Heron sang their hit Christmas song, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” to the Gift of Light event.

The president of Parrish Medical Center, along with the board of directors and important personalities, joined the event. They said that performers and otherwise are belting out the Christmas songs, calling the journey “a dream come true.”

It is hard to believe that Christmas is three weeks away, and it is time to get into the holiday spirit. Parrish Medical Center Gift of Light did just that. Attendees were seen smiling as they watched the show move through other parts of the event.

“The annual event celebrates the healing nature of the holiday season. Healing comes from bringing the community together to share in gifts of fellowship, laughter, and joy,” said a Parrish Medical Center staff member.

Not just a fun and exciting event, the Gift of Light serves to benefit the essential mission of “Healing Families—Healing Communities.” It has become a tradition that began 34 years ago as a humble tree lighting and has grown into an event that attracts thousands across Brevard County.

“We reflect on all that we have to be thankful for, especially the selfless support of the Parrish Care Partners, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and the community at large,” said a Parrish Medical Center staff member.

“The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each other’s burdens, easing others’ loads, and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes the magic of Christmas for us.”
