BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA —The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team lost a tight Citrus Conference road game in overtime Saturday afternoon.

The 23rd-ranked Titans fell to No. 18 Florida Southwestern 79-75 in overtime in a game that saw neither team lead by more than six.

Eastern Florida State College was down three with 24 seconds left but Jazelle Young cut it to one with a layup. After FSW made one of two free throws, the Titans had seven seconds to tie or win the game. E’Zaria Adams threw the inbound pass to Young underneath who put it in to tie the game.

In overtime, Florida Southwestern would score the first six points and while the Titans were able to cut the lead to two with a minute left, the Bucs would prevail and remain unbeaten in conference play.

Sophomore E’Zaria Adams had her best game as a Titan, scoring a career-high 26 points, 15 of them coming in the first half as the Titans led by three at the break. Adams hit four 3-points and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line, grabbing seven rebounds as well.

Teammate Tamara Elliot also had her best game of the season as the freshman guard scored 15 points, six straight in a crucial point in the third quarter to get the Titans their biggest lead of the contest, five points.

Young finished with 14 points and nine rebounds while Amanda Baumgarte had 10 points in the game.

Eastern Florida State College, 13-5 and 5-2 in the conference, will host St. Petersburg College Wednesday night at Titan Field House. The Citrus Conference matchup will tip off at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free. Fans can also watch the game live online.
