Randy Fine will now face Democrat Joshua Weil in the April 1 General Election

Brevard County’s Randy Fine, a longtime supporter of President Donald Trump, emerged victorious in the Republican primary for Florida’s 6th Congressional District, solidifying his path to the U.S. House of Representatives.

The 6th Congressional District includes Flagler and Putnam counties and parts of Volusia, St. Johns, Marion, and Lake counties.

Fine was elected to the Florida Senate on Nov. 5 in District 19 after spending eight years in the Florida House representing the Space Coast.

Fine’s overwhelming primary win—garnering 83% of the vote—came after Trump publicly encouraged his candidacy, further strengthening their political alliance.

Fine easily defeated Aaron Baker and Ehsan Joarder, who secured 14% and 3% of the vote, respectively. The low voter turnout, ranging from 10% to 17% across the district’s counties, highlighted a lack of enthusiasm among eligible voters.

Fine’s victory underscores the continued influence of President Trump’s endorsements in Republican primaries. The President publicly urged Fine to run and ensured his campaign had significant backing, including support from the pro-Trump super PAC Defend American Jobs.

Fine’s political journey includes four terms in the Florida House of Representatives, followed by a seat in the state Senate. Known for his staunch support of Israel, opposition to transgender rights, and early endorsement of Trump’s 2024 presidential bid, Fine has solidified his position as a conservative firebrand.

Following his primary win, Fine took to social media to express gratitude, stating, “God saved Donald Trump’s life so he could save the world… I won’t let any of you down.”

Fine will now face Democrat Joshua Weil in the April 1 general election.

Weil, a progressive teacher from Orlando, secured his nomination with a 60.7% victory over tech entrepreneur and attorney Ges Selmont. Weil’s campaign focuses on issues such as affordable housing, healthcare expansion, and education reform.

Despite demonstrating strong fundraising capabilities, having reportedly raised close to $500,000, Weil faces an uphill battle in a district that leans heavily Republican. Registered Republicans make up 49% of the electorate, compared to 26% Democrats.

The general election ballot will also include Libertarian Andrew Parrott and independent candidate Randall Terry.
