Viera Girls Varsity Wrestling Places in Top 4 of Cradle Cancer Invitational January 4

Viera Girls Wrestling finished in 2nd place overall
BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA — The Viera Girls Varsity Wrestling team competed in the 11th annual Cradle Cancer Invitational at Jensen Beach High School on January 4 and finished with five place-winners.
The Lady Hawks competed against some of the top ranked teams in the state. Viera had two champions, two runner-ups, and one 4th place finisher. The Viera Girls Wrestling team finished in 2nd place overall behind the #1 ranked girls wrestling team in the state, Flagler Palm Coast.
Placing in the top 4 for the Hawks were:
● Savanah Nazario – 1st Place
● Catalina Kenney – 1st Place
● Emma Hoppe – 2nd Place
● Isabel Alvarez – 2nd Place
● Keliana Velazquez – 4th Place
The boys varsity wrestling team also competed in the Cradle Cancer Invitational against some top-flight competition from Florida and out-of-state. The boys varsity team finished in 16th place overall in a field of 40 teams.
The top 6 Place-Winners for the Boys were:
● Edwin Torres – 5th Place
● Luke “Kepa” Agcaoili – 5th Place)
