BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – You know, every once in a while we come across someone who subscribes to the concept that honesty is the best policy and while it sure is refreshing to see, it doesn’t mean we are not going to lock your butt up for being a drug dealer.

Take what happened this past Wednesday for example, when our GAMEOVER Task Force Agents were out working the streets and observed the driver of a vehicle, Steven Medlin, driving a rental car without wearing his seatbelt.

As Agents continued to monitor the vehicle, it pulled into a residential driveway and Medlin then proceeded to conduct a hand-to-hand drug transaction with an unknown subject.

At this point, our Agents conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, however Medlin took the “slow roll” approach to stopping the vehicle, while also moving his arms about, both out the window and inside the car.

When Medlin finally stopped, Agents had him step out of the vehicle and subsequently observed what appeared to be marijuana on the floor board.

Agents asked for consent to his person, which Medlin agreed, and this is where things really started to go sideways, as in his pockets were approximately 7.4g of a substance that field tested positive for fentanyl, 7 Hydrocodone pills, another substance that tested positive for Fentanyl that weighed approximately 3.3g and a single Alprazolam pill.

Now as if all that wasn’t enough, inside the vehicle Agents located another 6.3g of Fentanyl, several bags of Marijuana weighing 124.2g, 10 Alprazolam pills, 17.4g of suspected THC wax, plastic bags and of course, no self respecting drug dealer would be caught without their digital scale.

So I guess since things were going so well for ole Medlin he decided to really help things progress by spontaneously sharing with us that he also happens to have a firearm in the backseat in a bag.

Medlin told Agents that everything in the vehicle was his, and that he knew he shouldn’t have been driving as his license has been suspended since 2015.

Folks, while he certainly shouldn’t have been driving with a suspended license, I’m pretty sure that was the least of things he shouldn’t have been doing.

Now even though Medlin was honest he still had to take the ride to Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge on No Bond for Trafficking in Fentanyl, Marijuana – Possession with Intent to Sell, Possession of a Controlled Substance (x2), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving While License Suspended with Knowledge.

Tell your friends and everyone you know, in Brevard County we have zero tolerance for crime, especially when it comes to people peddling poison on our streets.
