Former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino Named FBI Deputy Director By President Trump

Bongino will serve under newly appointed FBI Director Kash Patel

WASHINGTON, DC – Former Secret Service agent and media commentator Dan Bongino has been appointed as the next deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

President Donald Trump confirmed the appointment on Sunday night, celebrating the move on his Truth Social platform.

“Great news for Law Enforcement and American Justice!” Trump wrote. “Dan Bongino, a man of incredible love and passion for our Country, has just been named the next deputy director of the FBI by the man who will be the best-ever Director, Kash Patel.”

Bongino, a native of Queens, New York—like Trump—brings a diverse law enforcement and intelligence background to the role.

Before joining the Secret Service, He served as an NYPD officer, where he protected Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology from the City University of New York and earned an MBA from Penn State University.

Beyond his career in law enforcement, Bongino has become one of the most influential conservative voices in the media. His podcast and commentary have earned him a substantial following.

Bongino will serve under newly appointed FBI Director Kash Patel, a former Trump administration official known for his national security and intelligence roles.

The two are expected to work closely with new U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to implement reforms to restore what Trump described as “Fairness, Justice, Law, and Order” in the country’s top law enforcement agencies.
