BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA—Accelerate Brevard, formerly the Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, is hosting an upcoming event that promises to save lives.
The Hampton Inn & Suites at 9004 Astronaut Blvd. in Cape Canaveral will host Drown Zero on March 27 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
At the heart of the event is Wyatt Werneth, founder of Drown Zero Initiative, a passionate advocate for water safety and life-saving education.
Werneth’s mission is simple yet urgent: prevent drownings by raising awareness, promoting preparedness, and fostering a culture of vigilance around water.
“Every life lost to drowning is one too many,” Werneth says. “Through education and community involvement, we can reach zero drownings—together.”
This is your chance to connect with local leaders, safety advocates, and fellow community members who share a common goal: making Brevard safer for everyone. You’ll hear Wyatt share his story, learn about DZI’s life-saving work, and discover how you can get involved.

EOS Implementer Nikki Rach and Wiedmann Construction & Roofing are sponsors for this event.
Generous support is helping make this event—and Werneth’s mission—possible.
Why It Matters: Florida ranks among the highest in the U.S. for unintentional drowning deaths. Awareness and action are critical; many homes are near water, and children are exposed to pools and beaches year-round. The Drown Zero Initiative provides tools, training, and resources to help prevent tragedies before they happen.
Let’s move the needle from awareness to action. Let’s accelerate Brevard toward zero drownings. Join Accelerate Brevard and be part of the solution.
