Pedestrian Dies after Being Hit By Vehicle on Columbia Boulevard in Titusville

A man died from his injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while walking across Columbia Boulevard (State Road 405) just after 3 a.m. on Thursday, March 27. 

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A man died from his injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while walking across Columbia Boulevard (State Road 405) just after 3 a.m. on Thursday, March 27. 

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian, Cody N. Poirier, 31, was crossing Columbia Boulevard near Windover Trail on foot when he was struck by a 2009 Hyundai driven by John A Maniscalco, 25, who was driving west on Columbia Boulevard,” said a Titusville police spokesperson.

Traffic investigators continue to process the scene and evidence, but preliminary findings indicate the pedestrian did not utilize the crosswalk near this intersection.

According to police, the driver is not expected to be charged in this incident. The formal traffic homicide investigation is expected to take several weeks.
