Brevard Public Schools will offer a free, full-day Voluntary Prekindergarten program for the 2025–2026 school year. The VPK program is open to children 4 years old on or before September 1 who reside in Brevard County. These programs are designed to help children read, sing, talk, play, learn, and grow—giving them a strong foundation for academic success.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools will offer a free, full-day Voluntary Prekindergarten program for the 2025–2026 school year.

These programs are designed to help children read, sing, talk, play, learn, and grow—giving them a strong foundation for academic success.

The VPK program is open to children 4 years old on or before September 1 who reside in Brevard County. Children born between February 2 and September 1 of the calendar year have the option to postpone VPK enrollment until the following school year when they turn 5.

Brevard Public Schools’ VPK programs feature certified teachers and instructional assistants, and also include free breakfast and lunch, making it a comprehensive and supportive learning environment for young children.

Step 1: Apply for the VPK Certificate

Families must first apply for the VPK Certificate of Eligibility through the Early Learning Family Portal HERE.

Once the application is completed and approved, families will receive their certificate, which is required for school enrollment.

Step 2: Submit Your School Application

School applications will be accepted from April 14 to April 24, 2025, at selected schools. Parents are encouraged to:

● Visit the homepage of their chosen school for specific enrollment information.

● Review the district’s website for a list of participating schools.

Note that some schools may require a lottery due to high demand.
