Murder Suspect Arrested in Palm Bay After Police Utilize Camera System ‘FLOCK’ to Track Him Down

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police announced on Tuesday that a Broward County murder suspect has been arrested after police officers utilized a camera system named ‘FLOCK’ to locate the suspect near Malabar Rd.
Police say on April 12, around 7:45 p.m., officers were alerted by FLOCK, the department’s license plate reader program, that a vehicle registered to a murder suspect was traveling near Malabar Rd.
Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle at the Cumberland Farms.
The registered owner of the vehicle and sole occupant, 56-year-old Vital Joseph, wh0 had a warrant for 1st Degree Murder, Attempted Murder and Burglary with a Battery out of Broward County, Florida.
He was taken into custody by Palm Bay Police officers with assistance from Florida Highway Patrol. Broward County detectives responded to Palm Bay and took over the investigation.
The FLOCK camera system played a crucial role in helping officers locate a murder suspect who’s accused of stabbing two females, multiple times.
It is because of this technology and quick response by officers, that the vehicle was located and the suspect taken into custody before he could harm anyone else.
This success highlights the importance of strong collaboration between agencies and the effectiveness of modern tools like FLOCK in supporting public safety.
