BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department has promoted Corporal Matthew Boggess to the rank of Sergeant.

He has dedicated eight years of service to the department, joining in December 2016.

Before his law enforcement career, he honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1999 to 2003, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida.

Throughout his tenure with PBPD, Sergeant Boggess has served in multiple critical roles, including Honor Guard, Special Victims Unit Detective, Major Case Unit Detective, and Corporal in both MCU and Uniform Services Division.

During his tenure in our Criminal Investigations Division, he served as an ATF Task Force Officer.

Sergeant Boggess has demonstrated significant dedication to our department and community, and we are excited to see him excel in his new leadership role.
