BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service has issued a Special Marine Warning in effect until 2:30 p.m. EDT Thursday for coastal waters off Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet 0-20 nautical miles and Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nautical miles.
The warning is due to the threat of winds exceeding 34 knots.
Mariners in the affected zone should also be aware of steep waves and are strongly advised to seek safe harbor and take protective action immediately.
At this time, waterspouts are not expected; however, hazardous marine conditions can still pose significant danger to small craft, fishing vessels, and recreational boaters.
The highlighted warning area extends several miles offshore, directly impacting a portion of Florida’s East Coast marine zones.
Local authorities urge mariners to remain updated on weather developments and avoid heading out to sea until conditions improve.
