BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey joined Attorney General James Uthmeier and top law enforcement officials today to reaffirm Florida’s “law and order” approach on illegal immigration.

The high‑profile news conference introduced two key initiatives:

New ICE Liaison Officer Appointed

Florida has embedded its first-ever ICE liaison, Anthony  Coker, into state law enforcement operations. Housed in Florida full-time, Coker will coordinate directly with state and local agencies to support federal immigration enforcement efforts.

Officials unveiled a new statewide program designed to shield ICE agents and their families from doxing—the malicious exposure of personal information. The program includes targeted patrols and support from Florida Highway Patrol, aiming to safeguard agents both during duty and at home.

Enforcement and Accountability: Florida vs. California

“We’re not going to tolerate that in Florida… Whether you make the poor choice to riot or publish an agent’s personal information … you are committing a crime in Florida,” said Attorney General Uthmeier, emphasizing Florida’s refusal to follow California’s more permissive protest policies

Sheriff Ivey echoed that message, “Peaceful protest is part of our democracy … But if you let it turn violent, you’re gonna find out real quick what Brevard County is all about …”

Florida’s Anti‑Rioting Act, enacted over five years ago, imposes felony penalties on violence, property destruction, or obstruction during protests—messages reinforced throughout the briefing.
