BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The 13th Annual Reach for the Stars Gala, benefiting Take Stock in Children, is set for Saturday, September 20, at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club, located at 100 Datura Dr, Indian Harbour Beach, to celebrate hope, opportunity, and the life-changing power of education.

Organized by the Brevard Schools Foundation, the Gala serves as the largest annual fundraiser for the county’s TSIC program, a mentoring and scholarship initiative that supports low-income, high-potential students from middle school through college.

This year’s event invites local businesses, organizations, and individuals to step forward as sponsors or donors, helping to transform the futures of Brevard’s youth.

Over 6,000 students in Brevard County qualify for the TSIC program, but limited funding means many remain on the waitlist. Through this fundraiser, organizers aim to increase access and reduce that gap.

“This gala is more than an elegant evening of dinner, music, and auctions,” said Janice Kershaw, President and CEO of the Brevard Schools Foundation. “It’s a vehicle for community impact, and an opportunity for supporters to directly invest in the education and success of local students who need it most.”

Each year, approximately 50 new students are accepted into the program. With the support of mentors and coaches, and the promise of a college scholarship, TSIC students consistently outperform their peers: nearly all of Brevard’s TSIC seniors graduate high school, 60% earn college credits early, and several even complete associate degrees before graduating high school.

Beyond statistics, these young scholars are making meaningful contributions in fields like healthcare, cybersecurity, education, and engineering, right here in Brevard.

Every dollar raised at the gala is doubled thanks to a match from the Florida Prepaid College Foundation, maximizing the power of each donation. Sponsorship packages range from $1,500 to $15,000 and include visibility through VIP seating, champagne service, social media features, and more. In-kind donations for auctions and raffles are also welcome and greatly appreciated.

“This is a great opportunity for our local businesses and neighbors to show what community support can do,” added Jim Clamons, TSIC Leadership Council Chair. “We have an incredible group of planning committee members and volunteers working to make this the most impactful gala yet.”

Doors open at 6 p.m. on September 20. VIP tickets are available for $225 and include unlimited drink tickets and preferred seating, while general admission is $125.
