The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Special Marine Warning for parts of northern Brevard County, including the areas off the coast near Titusville, Mims, and Indian River City.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Special Marine Warning for parts of northern Brevard County, including the areas off the coast near Titusville, Mims, and Indian River City.

The warning remains in effect until 2:45 p.m. EDT on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The alert was prompted by hazardous marine conditions, with winds expected to exceed 34 knots, posing a risk to small boats and coastal vessels. The warning area includes a significant portion of the Indian River Lagoon and extends into adjacent Atlantic waters.

While hail and waterspouts are not expected, steep waves pose a major safety concern.

Mariners are strongly urged to seek safe harbor immediately and take all necessary protective measures.

– Turnbull

– Indian River City

Boaters and coastal residents are advised to monitor weather updates and remain cautious as conditions may deteriorate quickly.
