Medical assistants are in high demand

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College is inviting the community to learn more about careers in healthcare during an Open House for its Medical Assistant Specialist certificate program.
The Open House is free to attend, and all interested individuals are encouraged to participate.
The event will take place on Wednesday, October 22, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cocoa Campus, located at 1519 Clearlake Road in Cocoa.
To RSVP or learn more about the program, visit the website or call 321-433-7575.
The in-person gathering will give prospective students and their families the chance to experience firsthand what the program has to offer.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with faculty members who teach in the program, as well as academic advisors who can explain how the certificate aligns with broader career pathways in healthcare.
Current students will also be available to share their experiences in the program and discuss the many opportunities that open up after graduation.
The Medical Assistant Specialist certificate program is designed to provide students with the hands-on training and clinical knowledge required to excel in a variety of medical settings.
Students gain essential skills such as taking patient vital signs and medical histories, performing phlebotomy procedures, administering non-intravenous injections, assisting with surgical techniques, conducting diagnostic testing, and learning pharmaceutical principles, including safe medication administration.
These skills prepare graduates to work directly with patients while also supporting physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering quality care.

The program is an attractive option for individuals looking to quickly enter the healthcare field, as it can be completed in less time than a traditional degree while still leading to a rewarding career.
Medical assistants are in high demand across Florida and the nation, making this certificate an important pathway for those who want to pursue stable, meaningful work in clinics, doctors’ offices, and other healthcare environments.
Graduates of the program are often able to secure employment soon after completion, and many choose to continue their education in nursing or other advanced medical fields.
