Brevard County School Bus Safety Program

SHERIFF WAYNE IVEY AND K9 SAINT: Every day, thousands of students rely on school buses to get to and from school safely. Every day, reckless drivers who fail to pay attention or, worse, believe the law doesn’t apply to them put Brevard’s children at risk by illegally passing the school bus. That’s why we’ve partnered with Brevard Public Schools to launch the Brevard County School Bus Safety Program.

In Brevard County, there are no compromises when it comes to protecting our children.

Every day, thousands of students rely on school buses to get to and from school safely. Every day, reckless drivers who fail to pay attention or, worse, believe the law doesn’t apply to them put Brevard’s children at risk by illegally passing the school bus.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Brevard Public Schools to launch the Brevard County School Bus Safety Program.

Through this program, we’re using stop-arm camera technology to protect our children from dangerous drivers who don’t stop for the bus and, in doing so, put our children’s lives at risk.

As part of our effort to keep everyone safe, we are asking our citizens to take a few minutes and fully educate themselves on Florida’s School Bus Laws and the Brevard County School Bus Safety Program.

To avoid getting a ticket for passing a stopped school bus, and to help protect the lives of our children, please review the materials provided and remember, Just Stop…it’s the law!
