The Eastern Florida State College women’s golf team won the Hooves at the Highlands tournament Tuesday in Dothan, Alabama.

BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s golf team won the Hooves at the Highlands tournament Tuesday in Dothan, Alabama.

It was the first tournament win for the Titans this fall season.

Eastern Florida State College shot a 309 in the final round and beat Wallace State for the team title.

Sophomore Ann Burel shot even par for the second straight round to win medalist honors for the second time this fall season. After a slow start Burel had five birdies on the back nine but a double bogey on No. 18 dropped her to even par on the round.

Teammate Blair Powers finished tied for third after shooting a 79 in the final round, while Konstanze Anglett finished tied for fifth after a 79.

Margaux Blais also shot a 79 and finished seventh, while Cayden Challacombe was tied for ninth overall after an 85.

“Two solid rounds by Ann Burel and better rounds by Margaux and Konni today,” Eastern Florida State College women’s golf coach Jamie Howell said. “Hole locations were extremely difficult, and the team hung in there all day.”

Vivian Luu shot an 81 and also finished in a tie for ninth as an individual.

Eastern Florida State College will compete at the Flagler Fall Slam on October 27-28 to wrap up the fall season.
