Titusville police launched a SWAT operation Monday morning after an armed individual barricaded inside a home refused to surrender, authorities said.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police launched a SWAT operation Monday morning after an armed individual barricaded inside a home refused to surrender, authorities said.

Police announced around 12:20 p.m. that the suspect is now in police custody and there are no injuries reported to anyone.

Officers responded around 11:20 a.m. to a residence near Gray Avenue after reports of an armed person who would not come out.

The individual remained inside despite repeated commands to exit, prompting the deployment of a SWAT team, drone unit and K-9 officers.

Heavy police activity continued through the afternoon as teams surrounded the home.

Officials urged the public to avoid the area until further notice.
