The Brevard Humane Society announced the return of its highly anticipated Murder Mystery Fundraiser, Death at the Doo-Wop, taking place on January 24 at the Beachside Hotel & Suites in Cocoa Beach.

Founded in 1952, the Brevard Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals through compassionate care, adoptions, education, and community outreach. As Brevard County’s oldest established animal welfare organization, it relies on community support to continue providing safe shelter and loving homes for thousands of animals each year.

The Brevard Humane Society is calling on the community to help support the hundreds of animals in its care by donating much-needed supplies to its Cocoa and Merritt Island adoption centers. With an urgent need for essential items, the organization hopes residents will lend a helping hand during this critical time.

The Humane Society operates two adoption centers: 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa and 155 Pioneer Road in Merritt Island. Both locations rely on donated goods to maintain daily operations and ensure every animal receives proper nutrition, comfort and medical support.

Community members can contact the organization at 321-636-3343, with extensions 201 and 214 for the respective facilities.

Feline care remains a top priority, with urgent requests for dry and canned cat and kitten food, as well as clay kitty litter, litter boxes, scoops and kitten formula. For dogs, the Humane Society is seeking dry dog and puppy food, rubber Kong toys, durable plastic toys and pill pockets to assist with medication.

The shelters also require an ongoing supply of cleaning and operational items that keep the facilities safe and sanitary. Donations of Fabuloso or Mr. Clean, trash bags, floor cleaners, white copy paper, laundry detergent, bleach, tissues, towels, sheets, paper towels, mops, buckets, brooms and dustpans are especially valuable.

Gift cards from major retailers, including Walmart, Target, Publix, Aldi, Petco, PetSmart, Pet Supermarket, and online wish lists through Amazon and Chewy, provide additional flexibility for staff to purchase exactly what the animals need.

The Brevard Humane Society encourages the public to visit BrevardHumanesociety.org for more information on how to donate or support ongoing programs that benefit homeless and abandoned pets throughout the county.
