Eastern Florida State College Women’s Basketball Team Heads to Georgia For Holiday Classic

Titans return to conference on Jan. 3

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team will be back on the court this week at the Lady Jets Holiday Classic in Americus, Georgia.

The Titans come into the tournament 4-7 on the season and are looking to get on track after the holiday break.

The Holiday Classic begins Monday with the Titans facing Southern Union State Community College at 6 p.m.

Three Titans are averaging 10 points per game or better led by Milica Lazarevic who is averaging 14.4 points. Bruna DaSilva is averaging 13 points while Shadia Lara Santacruz is averaging 10.5 points per game.

Southern Union is 6-4 and is led by the duo of Takeriauna Mosley and A’Kaya Perry who both average eight points per game.

On Tuesday the Titans will play the host South Georgie Technical College at 7 p.m. Eastern Florida State College defeated the Jets 80-64 at home in November. The Jets are 3-9 this season and, like the Titans, are looking to turn things around this week.

Eastern Florida State College will wrap up the tournament on Wednesday against Shelton State Community College at 2 p.m. Shelton State is ranked 11th in the NJCAA Division I poll at 10-2 and have three players averaging at least 12 points per game as Nadia Norfleet leads the Bucs averaging 14.7 points per game.

The Titans will return to conference action on Jan. 3, traveling to Daytona State College for a 2 p.m. game. They will be home on Wednesday, Jan. 7 against Miami Dade College. Tip-off will be 5:30 p.m. and admission to Titan Field House is free.
