BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA  — A spectacular sunrise welcomed one of Norwegian Cruise Line’s signature vessels to the Space Coast on Tuesday.

The Norwegian Joy arrived at Cruise Terminal 10, where Port Canaveral’s Harbormaster captured a stunning early-morning photo as the ship docked beneath a glowing sky. The image, awash in warm sunrise colors, quickly became a highlight among port staff and cruise enthusiasts.

The Joy’s arrival marks another busy day at one of the world’s most active cruise ports, which continues to host some of the largest and most popular ships at sea. Passengers aboard the vessel were treated to a picture-perfect start to their visit, with calm water, ideal weather, and a sunrise worthy of its ship’s name.

The Norwegian Joy is more than just a cruise ship — it’s a floating resort packed with amenities and surprises. Built in 2017, she was designed as a sister ship to the Norwegian Bliss. ncl.com Among Joy’s standout features:

  • On Deck 19, she boasts a two-level electric go-kart racetrack — the first of its kind at sea — complete with hairpin turns, a covered pit lane, floodlit course and ocean views for those racing at sunrise or sunset. ncl.com+1

  • For relaxation, Joy offers a luxurious adults-only spa experience: beginning in February 2024, the ship introduced a Thermal Suite (featuring salt room, ice room, saunas, steam rooms, heated loungers and more) alongside new spa balcony staterooms with direct access to the onboard spa. ncl.com

  • The outdoor promenade called “The Waterfront” allows guests leisurely strolls around a quarter-mile loop with ocean breezes, bars, and restaurants — ideal for a sunrise walk or a sunset cocktail. ncl.com

  • At the top of the luxury spectrum, there’s “The Haven,” an exclusive retreat within the ship: suites and villas (some up to 1,458 sq ft), 24-hour butler service, private pool access, a two-story observation lounge, sundeck, hot tub, upscale dining — and priority embarkation/debarkation for its guests.
