BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Tigers are once again knocking on the door of a state championship appearance as they prepare to face the Cardinal Mooney Cougars in a highly anticipated Class 2S state semifinal matchup Friday night in Starke, Florida.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and fans can catch all the action live on SpaceCoastDaily.com.

Cocoa (8–4) enters the semifinal riding momentum after a gritty 17–10 victory over Bradford.

The program, a three-time defending state champion, continues its pursuit of a remarkable fourth straight title.

Their opponent, Cardinal Mooney (12–1), arrives with one of the strongest resumes in the bracket. The Cougars’ only loss came in Week 2 to Cherry Creek, a nationally recognized powerhouse ranked among the top 50 programs in the country. Since then, Cardinal Mooney has ripped off 11 straight wins, displaying both offensive firepower and disciplined defense throughout their postseason run.

The matchup is a familiar one for the two schools after they met in the State Semifinal last year where WR Jayvan Boggs set a record with 378 receiving yards on 17 receptions and three touchdowns.

For the Tigers, a win Friday would move them one step closer to etching their name into Florida high school football history once again — and keeping their dynasty alive.
