Two Port St. John children who had been the focus of a community-wide search have been located and are safe, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. Officials thanked residents for sharing information and assisting law enforcement during the investigation.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Two Port St. John children who had been the focus of a community-wide search have been located and are safe, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies had been searching for 11-year-old Caden Hanthorn and 9-year-old Jaquelyn Hanthorn, who were last seen around 3 p.m. on December 31 southwest of Fay Lake Park in Port St. John. Authorities initially believed the pair may have been traveling on bicycles.

The Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation to community members who shared the alert and provided tips that aided in locating the children.
