BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police recognized Lyndsey Veina as the department’s Communications Officer of the Quarter.
Veina trains new communication officers and has been an integral part of the successful implementation of fire emergency services to the Communication Center.
Just recently, the Palm Bay Police Department took over dispatching fire/EMS services for Palm Bay Fire Rescue and Veinay spent countless hours meeting with fire emergency personnel, assisted in the creation of the fire tac guide, and inputted new codes, signals and information into the CAD system.
She trained all communication personnel on these new procedures and spent hours outside of her normally scheduled shifts to accomplish this and ensured everyone had adequate access to training.
During this time frame, Veina was also assigned several communication trainees where she supervised and provided excellent hands-on training on the 911 phone system.
At times, she filled in as a supervisor for her shift.
“Lyndsey’s attention to detail, time management and dedication for this project outside of her normal scope of duties with the Communication Center ensured the successful transition of fire services back to the Palm Bay Police Department,” said PBPD officials.
