Merritt Island Mustangs Volleyball Sweeps Eau Gallie Commodores 3-0, Advances to District Final vs Rockledge

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island High School volleyball team advanced to the district final Tuesday after a 3-game sweep (25-4, 25-7, 25-4) versus the Eau Gallie Commodores.

The Mustangs exhibited pure domination Tuesday night by tallying a total of 33 kills in three sets.

Merritt Island (19-6) will face off against the Rockledge Raiders on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Rockledge (12-5) defeated the Bayside 3-0 in their district semifinal on Thursday.

The matchup on Thursday between Merritt Island and Rockledge is the second time the two teams have played this season when Merritt Island swept Rockledge 3-0 on August 30 at Rockledge.
