Florida Senate Confirms Tina Descovich’s Appointment to Florida Commission on Ethics, Elected as Vice-Chair

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA—The Florida State Senate confirmed Tina Descovich‘s appointment to the Florida Commission on Ethics and was unanimously elected vice-chair.
Descovich is a former Brevard Public Schools board member appointed to the commission last year by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Descovich has a long record of fighting for students and parental rights in Florida and nationally. She was elected to the Brevard Public Schools board in 2016.
She was selected by her peers in 2017 to serve as Vice Chairman and Chairman in 2018. While on the school board, she was a member of The Florida Coalition of School Board Members and served as the organization’s president in 2018.
In 2021, Descovich co-founded Moms for Liberty, a national nonprofit that unifies, educates, and empowers parents to defend their rights. She has also served her community in many ways as a member of the local Zoning & Planning Board and the Citizens Advisory Council.
Additionally, she has served on several nonprofit boards that help children, including AMIkids, the Children’s Hunger Project, and Sally’s Friends, a guild that supports a home for pregnant women in recovery from addiction.
As a graduate of Valdosta State University with a bachelor’s degree in communication, Descovich worked as a consultant on projects ranging from helping fast-growing startup companies to creating and implementing strategic and communication plans.
She served on the executive planning team for the National Air, Space and Sea Foundation planning airshows and on the executive
staff for the United States Army Commanding General of the Combined Arms Support Command and Fort Lee.
