Melbourne Police Report All Clear After Bomb Threats at Several Space Coast High School Campuses

On Friday morning, the Melbourne Police Department received information claiming there were explosive devices placed throughout several Space Coast high school campuses. The affected schools were Eau Gallie High School, Melbourne Central Catholic, Melbourne High School and Parkhurst Academy.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – On Friday morning, the Melbourne Police Department received information claiming there were explosive devices placed throughout several Space Coast high school campuses.

The affected schools were Eau Gallie High School, Melbourne Central Catholic, Melbourne High School and Parkhurst Academy.

The Melbourne Police Department began coordinating with Brevard Public Schools and their District Security to address the claims.

“All campuses were searched, and no devices were located on any campus,” said Melbourne Police Sgt. Benjamin Slover.

“Each school took measures to ensure the safety of the students and staff during the incidents. Once each campus was cleared by law enforcement personnel, the campuses resumed normal activities.”

Sgt. Slover said the incident caused a significant disruption to each campus involved.

“The investigation into who made the threats is ongoing,” said Sgt. Slover.
