BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA—On “National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day,” I want to take this opportunity to share how proud I am of the amazing men and women of our agency and our local partner agencies who are assigned as School Resource Deputies, Officers, and School Security Specialists at schools throughout Brevard County.
This incredible team of Law Enforcement Professionals works hard every day to keep our children, teachers, faculty, and volunteers safe on all of Brevard’s school campuses.
While their primary job is to prevent any type of critical incident from taking place, their dedication and commitment to the success of our schools and students runs much deeper.
As I travel around to our different schools, I am always amazed at how our Deputies know each of these student by name, and am humbled by the amazing relationships they have developed with them throughout the year.
I can honestly tell you that our Deputies and Officers are changing the lives of students on our school campuses while also making sure they know they will always have someone to turn to in a time of need, someone who is there to protect them at all times.
So, in the coming weeks, when you see your child’s School Resource Deputy, take a moment and thank all of them for their dedication and commitment to keeping our children and Brevard Schools safe from harm!
